The government announced on Thursday held the auction of a long delay of telecommunications licenses 3G/4G on April 23 , which would generate at least 1,600 million dollars for the national kitty .
Announced that the Advisory Committee of the spectrum auction , which met under the chairmanship of the Minister of Finance , Senator Ishaq Dar to the Ministry of Finance in the history of the auction, April 23 , while the sealed bids will be submitted to PTA on April 14, 2014 .
The Government will provide three licenses for third- generation telecommunications (3X10 MHz licenses in the 2100MHz band and spectrum ) to a minimum base price of 295 million dollars each . Similarly , will be presented at an auction of two licenses for 4G (2x10MHz paired spectrum in the range MHz 1800) base price of 210 million dollars. Auctions generate at least 1.6 billion dollars , however, the government believes that the proceeds of the auction could be due to increase to 2 billion dollars.

The Minister of Finance must PTA ( Pakistan Telecommunication Authority ) to ensure the best international standards of quality of service provided to consumers. He stressed that consumers should have the situation of mobile phone services and next-generation Internet art in line with international best practices . Was directed PTA also by the Commission to launch an awareness campaign in this regard .
Dar said that the entire process must be completed with diligence and transparency , and welcomed the progress . He expressed the hope that the PTA will lead a competitive auction . He concluded that with the introduction of new technologies for the domestic telecom industry will benefit from the transfer of technology and users will also new applications and services through the introduction of mobile broadband.
Later , he met with senior executives of cellular mobile operators also with the Advisory Committee and the spectrum auction presented and discussed their proposals on the draft memorandum of information. The Committee considered the recommendations for inclusion in the final information memorandum .
The Executive Directors welcomed the auction process , and expressed its commitment to providing quality services to the third generation 3G / 4G for the people of Pakistan . The meeting was also attended by Minister of Science and Technology Zahid Hamid , Information Technology Moss Ms. Anusha Rehman , Minister of Finance Dr. Waqar Masood , Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Ikhlaq Tarar and senior officials from the Ministries of Finance and Information Technology .
